Improvement of Far Distant Tsunami Propagation Based on Slowly Changing Topography

  • Based on the method proposed by Sung (2002), the effect of nonlinearity is considered. With this method, the Boussinesq equations which have high precision but are difficult to calculate can be replaced by the shallow water equations. The authors compared the new method with the method proposed by Sung (2002). It is showed that the new method is suitable for the changing topography.
