南北方一次寒潮积层混合云过冷水分布和冰雪晶浓度的飞机观测研究

Aircraft Observations of Supercooled Liquid Water and Ice Particle Concentrations in Mixed-phase Stratiform Clouds with Embedded Convection during a Cold Wave over northen and southern China

  • 摘要: 2021年11月5日-8日,我国出现一次寒潮天气过程,大范围锋面云系自西向东偏南方向移动,影响我国中东部大部分地区。对这种大范围天气系统影响下北方和南方云系微物理特征的对比分析并不多。本文利用11月6日-7日在山西和安徽地区开展的飞机探测数据,结合雷达和地面降水数据,分析了同一系统影响下处于发展阶段北方降雪云和处于减弱阶段南方降雨云的过冷水以及冰雪晶浓度分布特征。系统发展前期,飞机在山西探测时处于锋面降水并伴有雨雪转换阶段。此时中高层受冷锋后部西北气流影响形成冷垫,而低层3 km附近则为受西南气流影响的暖层,对应云系在-12~-8℃层存在达102 L-1的高冰雪晶浓度,而-6℃~-8℃层则以过冷水为主,观测到最大含水量0.42 g m-3。与山西地区发展加强的云系不同,飞机探测时安徽地区云系处于降水的中后期,冰雪晶浓度较低,由于上升气流对低层水汽的抬升有限,云内-10℃层内仍存在少量未被消耗的过冷水,与下层云在垂直方向上不连续。

     

    Abstract: From November 5 to 8, 2021, a cold wave occurred in China, and a large range of frontal clouds moved from west to east and south, affecting most parts of central and eastern China. There have been few comparative analyses on the microphysical characteristics of the clouds over northern and southern China under the influence of such large-scale weather system. In this paper, the distribution of supercooled liquid water and ice particle concentrations of the northern snowfall cloud in the developing stage and the southern rainfall cloud in the weakening stage are analyzed by using the aircraft measurements combined with radar and precipitation data carried out in Shanxi and Anhui provinces from November 6 to 7. In the early stage of system development, aircraft observations in Shanxi was in the stage of frontal precipitation accompanied by rainfall and snowfall conversion. At this stage, the middle-upper layer is affected by the northwest airflow behind the cold front to form a cold layer, while the lower layer at approximately 3 km was a warm layer affected by the southwest airflow. The corresponding cloud system had high ice particles concentrations of 102 L-1 in the -12~-8℃ layer, while the -6℃~-8℃ layer was dominated by supercooled liquid water, and the maximum water content was 0.42 g m-3. Different from the cloud in Shanxi province, the cloud in Anhui province was in the late stage of precipitation when aircraft measurements were conducted, and the concentrations of ice particles were low. Because of the limited uplift of the lower water vapor, there was still a small amount of unconsumed supercooled liquid water in the -10℃ layer of the cloud, which was discontinuous with the lower cloud in the vertical direction.
